Review: Resolute Aim (The Protectors of Boone County, Texas #2) by Leslie Marshman

She thought she’d be safe…
But her secret puts them both at risk

Traumatized after killing in self-defense, Bree Delgado left San Antonio PD to join a rural sheriff’s office. Her distractingly gorgeous new partner, Noah Reed, assures her that small towns have serious crime, too—and Bree has a dangerous vulnerability. She may have to trust Noah with the truth, but that doesn’t mean she has to give in to the attraction simmering between them…

My Review:

A great romantic suspense story.

Resolute isn’t the quiet sleepy little town Bree Delgado thought it was when she joined the Boone County Sheriff’s Department.  Right from the start, a meth house explodes and what follows are a series of crimes and murders that may or may not be related to the meth house.

Bree has been paired with Noah Reed and she isn’t too happy about it.  Noah likes to talk and joke and Bree finds it annoying.  Bree doesn’t want to talk too much because she has a secret; one that could change what people think about her and could put her partner’s life in jeopardy.  But Noah doesn’t stand down.  He is attracted to Bree and wants to know her better.  What will Noah think of Bree once she tells him what happened when she was a police officer in San Antonio?  Will Bree even have a job once the truth is revealed?

I enjoyed this book quite a bit.  It was an exciting, on the edge of your seat type of book.  I never knew what would happen next.   I am really loving this book series.  But just because it’s a series, these books can also be read as stand-alones.
