A Deal with the Devil (International Bad Boys Book 6) by A Louisa George

Synopsis:

When the only thing worth fighting for is love …

There are two things ex-boxer and casino tycoon Rey Doyle is an expert in: fighting and gambling. He trusts no-one, but he needs a fiancé to help seal a business deal and part-time casino waitress Kate Wilkinson agrees to the pretence.

Kate is on a mission to expose Rey Doyle for the pitiless criminal he is, but the more she learns about Rey and his past, the more she begins to admire the man. When the chance to bring him down arrives will she take it? Or will this bad boy claim her heart instead?

My Review:

Out for revenge, Kate Wilkinson will go as far as she has to in order to bring down Rey Doyle after her brother is seriously injured in one of his fight clubs.  Kate goes undercover as a waitress at a bar in one of Rey’s casinos to get the real story on Rey and expose him for the illegal fighting he promotes.

Rey learned early on in life to fight for what you want.  Starting out as a boxer, he has worked hard for his money.  He is now the owner of four casinos, two in London and two in Las Vegas.  He is in the process of opening another in Macau.

Rey is advised he needs to present a respectable image to the clients from Macau when they are in town to discuss the new casino.  Having a woman in his life would be a big benefit right now.  But he has never been known to keep any woman around for very long.  This is where Kate comes in and Rey asks her to pose as his girlfriend during the meetings.

Rey has never met a woman like Kate before.  She intrigues him and he needs to know more about her.  What will happen when Rey finds out the truth about Kate?

As total opposites, it was interesting to watch Kate and Rey’s love grow.  Lots of passion and excitement fill the pages of this book.

It was me. His younger sister's three words turn Ashton's world upside down. He must ask Jenna’s forgiveness, but can he risk his heart a second time? Even if Jenna can forgive him, dare he hope for a second chance at her love?

My Review:

A sweet second chance story

Jenna Harrison has moved on.  She is over Ashton Vance.  Once she finishes paying off their (should have been) wedding debt, he will be completely out of her life.

When she least expects it, Jenna’s past catches up with her.  Ash shows up at her door wanting to talk.  He needs her help.  His sister is getting married and their photographer had to cancel.  Amber and Toby want Jenna to take the pictures at their wedding.

Amber is the reason Jenna and Ash didn’t marry two years ago.  It all happened because of a picture that Amber photoshopped and caused Ash to call off the wedding.  Amber has some serious apologizing to do if Jenna is to work for her.

With the help of Pastor Dan and her friends at church, Jenna learns how to trust again and decides to give Ash a second chance.  But has he really changed and willing to commit and be honest with her?

This is a wonderfully written inspirational story that anyone will love.  It gives you hope when you thought it was lost.

My Review:

A sweet and sexy friends to lovers story.

How far would you go to help a best friend?  Luke Shuller will do anything for his best friend Melanie Richards.

When Luke saw Melanie at Grey’s Saloon one night with a cowboy making moves on her, he had to put a stop to it.  There was no way he was letting some random guy at a bar take advantage of Mel.  He knew she was a good girl and wouldn’t sit there to watch it happen.

When Melanie confesses she was ready to lose her virginity, Luke decides he would be the best man for the job.  They have known each other for a long time.  Friends with benefits can be a bit tricky.  How will Luke react when Melanie tells him that she is in love with him?

This was a really sweet story.  I just wish it was just a bit longer.

An intriguing story about learning to live and love again along with discovering a hidden secret.

Recently widowed Addison Cameron is just going through the motions one day to the next until she meets Miranda Jones at the senior center’s dance class.  They quickly become good friends and someone for Addison to confide in about her recent discovery about her late husband.

When Miranda introduces Addison to Todd Baker, a private investigator, they hit it off from the beginning.  Todd is more than happy to help Addison discover what her husband had been hiding.  When things go from business associates to lovers, will Addison be able to trust herself to love again?

This is a must read book.  It has all the elements that make it entertaining; interesting characters, action and the mystery is one I never would have thought of.
