His Forbidden Princess (Royal Holiday Book 4) by Jeannie Moon Review

Synopsis:

Eight years ago, university student Ian Stuart fell in love with his sweet, beautiful classmate and he’s never forgotten her. Sofie loved Ian with all her heart in return, but she didn’t trust him with one little detail about her life she’d neglected to share.

She was a princess, and they could never be together in the outside world.

Now Crown Princess Sofia is in danger. An insurgent faction in her country has targeted the royal family, and while Sofia is visiting the United States, she is forced to go into hiding. Assigned to protect her is none other than FBI Special Agent Ian Stuart.

Once again Ian and Sofie are in an impossible situation, fighting their feelings for one another, while trying to stay safe. Will their love for each other prove to be the most dangerous game of all?

My Review:

A beautifully written story.

Eight years ago Princess Sofia Luzano fell in love with Ian Stuart.  She never told him she was a princess.  She just wanted to be a regular girl for once.  The morning after they spent the night together, everything came crashing down around them.  Sofie’s mother, Queen Louisa of Aubonne, came looking for her.  She was not to spend any more time with the American even though they were in love.  He was not a right fit for her.  Her duty was to her country.

Eight years later, the royal family is in trouble.  While Sofia is in New York, her parents and younger sister were run off the road while traveling to their mountain residence.  Her sister is left injured and in the hospital.  The FBI believes Sofie is in danger too.  She needs protecting until they can figure out who is responsible.  No one can be trusted, not even the people who work for her.

Ian currently heads of a squad of counter terrorism specialists.  He will not trust this job to anyone else.  He will do everything possible to keep Sofie safe.  He takes her to his family home on Shelter Island where no one will know her or know where she went.  Will he be able to protect her when old feeling start coming back to both of them or will she be a major distraction?

This is one of those books you fall in love with from the very beginning.  I just wish it were longer because I wasn’t ready to say goodbye to this couple yet.

Cinderella's Cowboy (This Old House Book 4) by Roxanne Snopek

Synopsis:

Chad Anders doesn’t know why mousy Cynthia Henley trips all over her tongue when she’s around him. Nor does he understand his undeniable attraction to this good girl. Wild and sexy is his type, like the dream-girl he caught a glimpse of years earlier he’s never forgotten.

Cynthia’s superpower is invisibility, especially with men. It’s better for everyone that way. Besides, she’s got a cat. She’s okay. But when playboy-rancher Chad hires her, she’s got a chance to shine. Professionally, at least. Until she learns of his fascination with a mysterious dream-girl, who was actually nothing more than a shy teenager on an ill-advised dare all those years ago. Cynthia knows she’s no man’s dream-girl and never will be.

But there’s magic at the ball. Princesses glow in the starlight, princes appear out of nowhere, and, sometimes, they look a lot like cowboys…

My Review:

This is a wonderful addition to the ‘This Old House” series.  But it can be read on its own as well.

When Chad Anders comes to DMC Solutions for an event him and his brother are planning, Cynthia Henley gets excited.  Chad is an old school girl crush of Cynthia’s.  He is also a man who ran through women like gumballs from a machine.  Can she work with him without getting pulled back to her old feelings?  Chad and his brother Eric are launching their charitable foundation, Building Tomorrow, with a fundraiser for Logan Stafford’s heritage house restoration project.  They want Cynthia to help do the planning for them.

With her business partners, step-sisters, absent most of the time, Cynthia has the job to do all on her own.  She is determined to make it a huge success no matter what distractions or problems come her way.

Neither, Cynthia or Chad had any idea that their time spent together will lead to bigger things for both of them.  Life changing things.  The happily ever after kind.

This is a really cute romantic comedy type book.  It’s a fun and light hearted read.  Plus, there is a cute kitten in the story too.  And, everyone knows how much I love kittens.

Synopsis:

The Billionaire's Bid Review

Synopsis:

Handsome tycoon James Putnam is acting CEO of his family’s logging company, Putnam Industries. He needs to land a big deal to prove to the board he’s capable of leading the company. If not, his father’s right-hand-man is more than willing to fill the role. James hurries to Indigo Island alone, certain he has what it takes to win the bid, earn the CEO title and save the island from uncontrolled logging.

Aubrey Templeton is a gorgeous magazine reporter facing a mountain of debt after her parents’ tragic deaths. The only asset she has to leverage is 2,500 acres of old growth forest on Indigo Island. She hires Dirk Cooley, a forester, to create a forest management plan for her family’s land and to solicit multiple logger bids to lease the land. Aubrey insists James Putnam’s company is included since she still hasn’t forgotten the one night of incredible sex they shared over a year ago, and she’s sure he’ll be eager for a repeat performance.

What Aubrey doesn’t know is that James is a changed man, who is determined to prove he didn’t get his job as a birth right. He is determined to never again mix business with pleasure, although keeping Aubrey at arms length during their negotiations tests James’ discipline and will power, especially as he finds himself in the role of tour guide for the sexy landowner and later as her protector when an unscrupulous forester targets them both in a revenge plot hatched to destroy the Putnam family.

My Review:

A quick lighthearted read

With the CEO position on the line, James Putnam needs to land a big deal to prove he is the right man for the job.  Putnam Industries is the only company that should win the deal of logging the Templeton land.  The Putnams have been a part of Indigo Island for a very long time.  James would know what is right for the island and its people.

Since losing her parents a year ago, Aubrey Templeton has been trying to figure out how to pay the taxes on the land.  She refuses to lose the land that has been in her family for generations.  When Aubrey hires Dirk Cooley to help with her plans, she has no idea what will happen.  She has no idea Dirk is out to sabotage the deal because he doesn’t like the Putnam family.

With the land deal on her mind, Aubrey also has a memory of spending the night with James a year ago.  She hasn’t forgotten him or the time they were together.  She would love to pick up where they left off.  Will James have only business on his mind or will he be open to more than just business?

I enjoyed this book.  It has a good plot and interesting characters with a few unpredictable surprises here and there.
