Review: The Magical Bed & Breakfast (Charmed Love Book 2) by Aimee O’Brian
In the small town of Hazard, the path to love is never ordinary—sometimes, it takes a little magic.
Kate Mayfield is done with city life and celebrity scandals. With her career as a reputation management consultant behind her, she’s sunk every penny into restoring the historic Hazard Inn, determined to turn it into a thriving bed-and-breakfast. But the charming seaside inn comes with more than she bargained for—hidden problems, a secret underground tunnel, and a mysterious antique desk holding an old musical score said to bring success if played perfectly.
Rory Rollins, famous rock band keyboardist, needs to disappear. With a stalker on his trail and the media closing in, he retreats to his hometown of Hazard, Rhode Island, planning to lay low. But when Kate asks him—believing he’s just a classical pianist—to help her play the duet, refusing means revealing the secret he’s desperate to keep.
As the two grow closer, so does the magic of Hazard. But with secrets between them and the past threatening to catch up, will love be enough to keep them together?
My Review:
More than just a romance novel.
I read this book in record time. I could not put it down. At first Kate and Rory seemed to be so opposite, it was hard to imagine them as a couple. But as the story played out, I couldn’t not see them together.
Set in a small town in Rhode Island, where there are lots of secrets, especially at the historic inn that Kate is renovating. Rory is a rock star trying to lay low hoping his stalker will find someone else to latch on to. Together, they discover secrets at the inn and in town as they create a friendship and eventually fall in love.

Review: A Whisper of Summer Magic (Southern Love Spells #3) by Sinclair Jayne
Falling out of a tree and landing at the feet of a sexy neighbor is not the meet-cute of corporate attorney Meghan Maye’s dreams. He’s too handsome, too flirty, too fun and too young. She could ignore those flaws, if she were looking for a man, but she’s not. Meghan’s contemplating a career switch that sounds crazy even to her and will upset her ambitious parents. Plus, there’s bad blood between their families. Then he brings up the mysterious, heirloom cookbook—Southern Love Spells—and issues a challenge. And Meghan, even bruised and embarrassed, can’t let that go unanswered.
Firefighter Jackson Roberts wasn’t looking for trouble when he wandered onto a recently deceased neighbor’s property. He knows he’s not supposed to be there, but he’s housesitting for his folks, and he’s looking for answers to questions his family’s afraid to ask. As a first responder, he can hardly call 911 and walk away, but taking care of Meghan until she’s back on her feet will open a Pandora’s box. But Jackson rarely plays it safe, and he’s convinced Meghan’s worth the risk.
My Review:
Pure magic!
Meghan Maye is at a crossroad in her life. She is burnt out from her corporate lawyer job and wants to move back home to be closer to her family and discover what truly makes her happy. Love is not on the radar until she is reunited with Jackson Roberts, her much younger, firefighter neighbor. With so many reasons why Meghan shouldn’t get involved with Jackson, fate has another plan.
I enjoyed seeing Meghan and Jackson get to know each other and fall in love in this beautifully written friends to lovers/reverse age gap romance. I also enjoyed catching up with the other Maye sisters from previous books.

A wedding to remember brings them back together.

He wants to ensure everything goes perfectly, but when he needs his focus the most, his plans spin out of control when his ex girlfriend, the love of his life, unexpectedly arrives.
Working at her father’s financial firm with expectations to take over, Hope Bergman’s determined to prove her managerial and leadership skills by organizing a flawless corporate conference at the charming resort. Coming face to face with the man she could never forget divides her attention and jeopardizes the career she’s worked hard to build.
But when there’s a glitch in the preparations for his friend’s wedding, Slater reluctantly asks Hope for help, and she can’t resist stepping in. Could the chance to work together rekindle their love and lead to a new beginning or will Hope’s ambitions once again take her far away?
My Review:
A sweet second chance.
Former couple, Hope Bergman and Slater Evans, are reunited when Hope goes on a cooperate retreat to Cabins in the Pines Resort and Executive Retreat, where her old boyfriend, Slater Evans is manager. As they catch up with each other, they realize they are still in love. But life has changed for Hope and she can’t leave her father’s business in another state. Or can she? I enjoyed seeing Hope and Slater reunite even with all the odds against them. This book also continues from the first book with the wedding of Delaney and Wyatt. This is a heartfelt romance and a great addition to the Cabins in the Pines series.

Review: She Belongs In My World (The Medicine Man Book 5) by Karen Kay
Beauty, Treachery, and an Untamed Wild Love
Liliann Varga had been too young the first time she met and fell head-over-heels in love with the Blackfeet Medicine Man, First Rider, the man who saved her father’s life. Besides, he was newly married to a woman of his own tribe. But years later, when Liliann’s husband has committed a terrible aggression against her, it’s First Rider who once again is called upon to put his healing skills to use.
First Rider has come to heal Liliann, not to seduce her. But his reaction to the grown up Liliann, the little girl who used to be his shadow, is entirely masculine and sensual. Though he’d vowed to bring his first wife back after her capture by an enemy tribe, he'd failed and she had died, causing First Rider to nearly lose his mind. Could Liliann be his second chance at love?
Enacting a “scout’s revenge” against Liliann's cruel husband would leave the man alive but broken, and it would also set Liliann free. But, just as their love deepens, a report emerges: First Rider's wife is still alive. To discover the truth or lies of the rumor, they both embark on a dangerous journey through the Backbone-of-the-world Mountains.
But, with little more than a bow and a gun, can they survive the beautiful but treacherous snows to find a world where they both belong?
My Review:
When First Rider and Liliann first met, he was in love with another woman, but it still didn’t stop Liliann from falling in love with him. Four years later, they are reunited and get another chance at love when First Rider, a medicine man, is called to help Liliann, who was brutally injured by her husband.
This book is a beautiful love story. It was like stepping back in time and learning about American Indian culture and traditions and what it was for two people, from different lifestyles, to come together as one. It is a great addition to The Medicine Man series.
