Review: Falling for the Doctor (The Lange Brothers #2) Nan Reinhardt

My Review: 

A wonderful small-town medical romance.

Dr. Max Lange fell hard and fast for Lauren Mitchell, a consultant for Cardiotronics Technologies, who was in River’s Edge to demonstrate the company’s latest device at St. Mark’s Hospital.  Lauren and Max spend a lot of time together and find themselves falling in love.  But Lauren has to hit the road soon.  She doesn’t have time for a relationship no matter how she feels about someone; even someone she shared her biggest secret with.  But then, a tragedy hits town and Lauren finds herself working in the ER along with Max.  Will this be enough to give Lauren a second thought about a new career and possibly love and settling down?  

This book was hard to put this book down.  It had everything I was looking for in a romance and then some. 

 

Review: Grim and Bear It (Love Me Dead #2) by Heather Novak

 

Poppy’s skull over heels in love, and not even death can stop her…

My Review:

A fantastic fantasy romance.

This is such a great story, but often emotional.  Jake and Poppy were in love, but torn apart while they were still teenagers, when Poppy’s family followed their destiny to became Grim Reapers.  Poppy and Jake never forget each other.  Jake constantly searched for Poppy, not knowing what happened to her or where she went.  He was just told they moved.  Poppy still had the ability to watch over Jake, without him knowing, even though she was breaking reaper rules.  But one day it all changed and Jake was able to see Poppy.  What does this mean?  Is it because Jake is a supernatural investigator?  Maybe he uncovered a new mystery.  Is it his time to die?  Or is there something else supernatural happening.  Lots of questions arise.  But the main question is, can Poppy and Jake be together again, or are they destined to always be a forbidden love? 

I was hooked on this book from the start. This author took me on an amazing journey into the supernatural world.  I also enjoyed catching up with the characters from the previous book in the series. I would recommend reading the Love Me Dead series in order so you don’t miss anything and you know the characters and their stories better.

Review: A Moment of Forever (Shady Rivers Book 5) by Magnolia "Maggie" Rivers

Author and journalist Zach Brown lost his wife and now, a year later, his sis is telling him it’s time to move on. My Review:

A message in a bottle brings two lonely people together.

While walking on the beach, popular author, Zach Brown, finds a message in a bottle that was written ten years ago by a sixteen-year-old girl.  Before her father passed away, he told her not to settle down with just any man.  She should wait until she finds the one who brings magic into her life.  Zach decides this would make a great story to write, so, he sets off to find her.  Little did Zach know, Izzy just might be the women that can bring the magic into his life as well. 

This was a fun quick read.  I read it in one sitting. I enjoyed the characters and setting along with the magical love story.  It’s one of those feel-good stories that leaves a smile on your face long after reading it. 

 

Review: Home to Cypress Bayou (Louisiana Book 1) by Susan Sands

My Review: 

First book in a new series and I’m already hooked. 

I couldn’t get enough of this book.  It was heartfelt, inspiring and intriguing.  I loved seeing Leah and Jake work through the issues that caused their breakup and finally find their way back to each other.  When the family secrets started to come out (and boy were there some big ones), I worried what the outcome would be, as I was already invested in these characters and only wanted the best for them.  I also enjoyed the Louisiana setting of the book and through the author’s words, I could easily visualize it all.  I can’t wait to read the rest of the books in this series and see what happens next.
