Review: Reunion in the Outback (Welcome to Bunya Junction #4) by Nicole Flockton

Everyone deserves a second chance…

Yolanda Watson thought she had left her hometown in her rearview mirror when she married her high school sweetheart and moved to the big city. Nearly a decade later, she’s returning to Bunya Junction newly separated and with her young daughter in tow. Maybe, surrounded by family, she can start again and rebuild her life. Although a piece of her heart is still miles away…

Michael Watson thought he had it all, until his wife left him and everything else in his life quickly crumbled at his feet. But Michael isn’t one to give up so easily, and he especially isn’t ready to end the marriage to his soulmate. Determined to put his family back together, he heads to Bunya Junction, willing to do whatever it takes to make Yolanda see that their story is far from over. Although telling her the truth about his circumstances is harder than he thought.

But secrets have a way of coming out. When Yolanda’s and Michael’s are revealed, it’ll be the ultimate test of their love.

My Review:

A beautifully told second chance romance.

This book started out unlike a typical romance.  In this story, the couple, Yolanda and Michael, are already married.  When they can’t resolve an issue, Yolanda decides to leave Michael and go back home to Bunya Junction.  Michael vows to get his wife back and will do anything, even return to the town where nobody liked him.  But there is more; Yolanda and Michael are both keeping secrets.  Big secrets that could put an even bigger wedge in their relationship.  If they are going to reunite, they will need to need to overcome these issues too.

This book is filled with emotional scenes as Yolanda and Michael remember the reasons why they were so good together and why they should remain married.  It filled my heart with joy when they finally got back together.  If the ‘Welcome to Bunya Junction’ series is going to end, I am glad it ended like this.  I couldn’t have asked for a better finale.

Review: She Gets a Happy Ending (A Fearless Fairytale #3) by Denise N. Wheatley

Sometimes happily ever after arrives on its own magical schedule…

Devon Jacobs’s star is definitely in orbit. Despite the cancellation of her weekly sitcom, she lands a job writing for a television drama, then sells her Christmas script to the perfect producer. But her boyfriend, Ryan Roberts, is having no such luck. Down on himself and burning out from all the auditioning, his frustration puts a strain on their relationship, and suddenly they find themselves calling it quits.

A movie shoot in the holiday town of Leavenworth, Washington, is exactly the mental break Devon needs. Until their leading man quits and the producer replaces him with none other than Ryan. Finding the right level of professionalism isn’t as easy as it sounds, especially when this opportunity means everything to their careers—and it’s becoming more obvious with each passing day that neither one of them is successful in saying goodbye.

Can Devon and Ryan find a way to combine their dreams and tie a bow around their relationship—this time for keeps?

My Review:
The perfect finale for this series.
If you have read the previous books in the Fearless Fairytale series, you’ll know how hard Devon worked to achieve her dream of becoming a screen writer and how she fell in love with Ryan, the star of the show she was working at.  In this book, Devon and Ryan’s relationship is tested when the movie script Devon wrote is about to start filming, while Ryan is still struggling to find work and losing confidence in himself.  Ryan decides they need a break.  But when the actor, who was originally supposed to be the leading man in Devon’s movie leaves and Ryan replaces him, Devon’s emotions are all over the place especially when Ryan starts spending extra time with the leading lady of the movie.  Will this be the end of Devon and Ryan, or will they be able to find their way back to each other again?
This is one of those books that was hard to put down.  I couldn’t wait to see how it ended.  Devon and Ryan definitely deserved a happy ending after all they went through.  The final scenes of this book were right out of a movie scene.  They felt so real and so beautiful.  I highly recommend this book and series.  But please start at the beginning so you don’t miss anything.

Review: Cop An Attitude: An Unlawfully Funny Romantic Comedy (I Can't Stop Loving You RomComs Book 1) by Hilary Grossman

Their reunion left a lot to be desired. Are they a disaster in the making or totally meant to be?

I kicked love to the curb for the greater good. After all, my soaring career would’ve made my family so proud, and men have a tendency to stop success cold. But I never expected a single and sexy police officer to pull me over, flirt with me, and then write me a ticket.

Now I see the infuriating cop everywhere I go. It doesn’t help that we have a past, and he’s an amazing dad to his daughter. And every time I want to get back to my small-town routine, I can only think about what my life would be like with the no-nonsense policeman…

I should really just forget the whole thing. But if I do, will I lose my last chance at love?

Cop An Attitude is the charming first book in the I Can’t Stop Loving You romantic comedy series. If you like engaging characters, enemies to lovers, and laughing out loud, then you’ll adore Hilary Grossman’s humorous walk on the wild side.

My Review:

A fun quick read.

Two former classmates meet again in this fun story filled with witty dialogue and humor.

When Waverly and Pete meet again, it isn’t on the best of terms.  In fact, it was late at night when Waverly was headed home after a long day at work.  Pete is a police officer and pulls Waverly over for speeding.  When he realizes who he has just pulled over, he couldn’t believe it.  Waverly gave Pete a nickname, when they in school, that caused lots of people to laugh at him.  But he still secretly had a crush on her.  Grown up Pete is a widower and has a little girl.  Now, he has to make the decision between making a pass at Waverly or keeping his distance, so Clara doesn’t get hurt again, if things don’t work out.  Waverly is a workaholic and doesn’t have free time for herself, much less dating.  Will Pete and Waverly be able pull off the relationship that so many people know is destined to happen?

This book was so much fun to read.  I couldn’t wait to see how Waverly and Pete would end up together.  There was a lot of build up to the big moment and even then, I had to wonder if they would stay together.  Waverly and Pete’s story does continue in another book, but this book does not end with a cliff hanger.  I can’t wait to read about their journey after marriage.
