My Review:

An enchanting love story.

This story transported me to the time when it took place, the early 1830s.  Grey Coyote and Marietta’s story was an intriguing one.  I enjoyed seeing how they met and traveled across the land and eventually fell in love.  Grey Coyote was chosen to end an ancient curse that was put on his people.  Marietta was trying to get to St. Louis where she would get on a boat and start her journey to England to claim her family estate that was wrongfully taken away from her. 

Personalities clash and things don’t go as planned, but Grey Wolf and Marietta eventually fall in love and it is such a memorable love story.  I learned a lot about Native American culture and a few words from this book.  It is a beautifully told romance.  I also liked the name Grey Coyote gave Marietta, Little Sunset.  And, who can resist this gorgeous cover? 

Review: Home to the Outback (Welcome to Bunya Junction #1) by Nicole Flockton

Coming home isn’t always easy…

Three years ago, nurse Sindy Carruthers returned to Bunya Junction wounded, wary and shamed by a relationship gone wrong. Welcomed home by her family and supportive community, she now manages the local medical practice and enjoys her newfound confidence. She’s perfectly happy on her own, until a blast from the past in the form of Ryan Flanagan appears.

Dr. Ryan Flanagan—renowned plastic surgeon to the stars—heads to Bunya Junction to pay his last respects to the man who opened his heart and house to an abandoned boy. Ryan’s no fan of Bunya Junction or the harsh judgments of some of the townsfolk, so he’s stunned to discover that his old mentor has bequeathed him half a general medical practice—hoping he’ll stay on and serve the community. The other half of the practice now belongs to the beautiful Sindy Carruthers, his closest friend’s twin sister.

Sindy knows Ryan will never stay in Bunya Junction and become her business partner, and that’s a good thing. Otherwise she might just lose her heart to him.

 

My Review:

Small-town Australian romance.

When Dr Colin McCarthy passes away and leaves his medical practice to his nurse, Sindy Carruthers, and Dr. Ryan Flanagan, a popular cosmetic surgeon, both were surprised. 

Why would Colin leave anything to Sindy and Ryan?  It didn’t take long to answer that question as I read the book.  Colin had a huge heart and wanted to help them.  But did Colin plan on them falling in love?  I think he would have been happy to know they did.  Neither, Sindy or Ryan, wanted anything to do with romance, but fate had another idea.  Distrust and misinformation played a big role in Sindy and Ryan’s relationship and almost put an early stop to it.  I was so happy to see them work through it and get their happily ever after. 

I thoroughly enjoyed this book.  I loved the characters and their backgrounds.  I descriptions of Bunya Junction made me feel like I was there with them.  I can’t wait to learn more about the town residents in future books. 

Review: The Best Man's Bride (The Hartman Brothers #1) by Jamie Dallas

What else can go wrong? Or is everything finally going right?

After catching her fiancé lip-locked with the wedding planner an hour before their vows, Hailey Miller hikes up her wedding dress and runs. Jace Hartman doesn’t believe in love. And he doesn’t believe in giving up. He won’t let his company’s event planner walk away from their biggest launch—even if she has a broken heart. Business comes first, so he makes Hailey an offer she can’t refuse. But it’s her counter offer that has him worried. She needs a place to live for the month, and he has an extra bedroom.

Jace has spent the past few years trying his best to bury his attraction to Hailey. Now she’s everywhere and making him forget all the reasons he should never mix business and pleasure.

 

My Review: 

Falling for the runaway bride.

After Hailey catches Evan, her fiance, making out with the wedding planner on their wedding day, she runs.  But she didn’t get far before Jace, Evan’s business partner and best man, finds Hailey walking the streets of Houston, in the rain, still wearing her wedding dress.  With no place to go, Jace offers Hailey a room in his condo in exchange for her to continue working for Sun Tech, Jace and Evan’s company, until the launch in three weeks.  What happens next was slightly predictable, but a whole lot of fun to read.  Hailey and Jace had great chemistry and I enjoyed seeing how they finally got their happily ever after.  I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
