High Class (The VIP Desire Agency Book 2) by Mel Teshco - Review

Synopsis:

My Review: 

A memorable love story.

Claire "Scarlet" Davis was the one woman Mackenzie Smitherson couldn't get out of his mind.  He wanted her exclusively for himself.  As one of Australia's richest men, he was used to getting what he wanted.  But Scarlet played hard to get and it only made Mackenzie want her even more.

After the death of her mother, Scarlet was left to raise her twin sisters on her own.  She became a high class call girl with The VIP Desire Agency and was doing well for herself, even paying for her sisters to go to university.  But when she wasn’t working, she just wanted to live a quiet normal life.  She didn’t need a man to take care of her and falling in love was definitely not in her plans.

Scarlet might be jaded with other men, but with Mackenzie, every look and touch was exciting.  Will Claire stop fighting her feelings long enough and realize Mackenzie is the man who could finally gave her a happily ever after? 

This fast paced book has a lot of depth to it.  Claire and Mackenzie had great chemistry and were more alike than they thought.  They both had less than ideal childhoods and both worked hard for what they had. They feared commitment, but once they gave in, they realized how much they brought out the best in each other.  This book contains very descriptive intimate scenes, so if you are not into that, you may want to skip the book.  If you are into it, you will really enjoy this story.

My Review: 

An exciting and emotionally charged story.

Callie McClain has returned to Montana to help care for her father.  She really doesn’t want to be there. She would rather have her father return to California with her.  When a fire threatens their safety, it is Tyler Dodson who rescues them.

Tyler lived for his job.  He always wanted to be a smokejumper.  He lived for the danger and excitement of the job.  He doesn’t have room for a woman in his life, but he can’t get Callie out of his mind.

Sparks fly between Callie and Tyler, but Tyler knows they can’t have anything permanent with Callie living in California.  How will they make this relationship work? 

This is another wonderful addition to the Firefighter of Montana series.  I really liked the chemistry between Callie and Tyler.  The story line was interesting and entertaining and kept my interest all the way to the very end.    

Driftwood Bride (Driftwood Bay Book 3) by Lenora Worth - Review

Synopsis:

After his latest rodeo related injury Judson Duvall is ready to hang up his spurs and always a man of action, defies doctors and drives all night to reach the only woman he’s ever loved. He begs for one last chance and is prepared to do anything to win back Melissa’s love. He claims he’s changed, but is it enough or is it too late?

My Review: 

A heartfelt story about forgiveness and second chances.  You’ll find yourself cheering for Melissa and Judson as the rediscover the love that they had lost. 

Melissa Sonnier has many thoughts going through her head while she is at her sister’s wedding.  Both of her sisters have found the love of their lives and Melissa wonders if she will ever have the same happiness as her sisters.   

Judson Duvall is risking his recovery after a bull riding accident.  He has driven across four states to find Melissa and win her back.  He has finally given up the rodeo and ready to settle down.  He will do anything to show Melissa that he is a changed man.  Will Melissa be able to forget what happened in the past and give Judson another chance? 

Beautifully written and descriptive, this book is a great addition to the Driftwood Bay series.  Along with Melissa’s story, I also enjoyed catching up on her sisters Maddie and Michelle.

My Review: 

Smoking hot firefighters.  Need I say more?

When Dean "Ace" Clark ends up in Kalispell Hospital's emergency room after a jump goes wrong, he discovers the doctor to be none other than his sister's best friend Lina McArthur.   He couldn’t let Lina know who he really is.  He didn’t want to interfere with his sister’s life.  Ten years ago, Ace left Marietta and never looked back.  He wanted Jess to have a good life without his troubled past overshadowing her.  He has created a whole new life for himself including a new background and he wasn’t going to let anyone know his secret.

Lina was tired of living in her father’s shadow.  When it was time to break free, she moved to Kalispell where she could figure out who she really was.  The day Lina has a patient with her best friend’s last name, it sets her mind racing.  What if this was Jess’s long lost brother?  She was almost positive Ace really was Dean and she will do anything to find the truth.  But one thing Lina didn't expect was how hard she would fall for the sexy smoke jumper.

This is a fast paced book with a great storyline and interesting characters.  It is a wonderful addition to the Firefighters of Montana series.

My Review:

Be prepared to read way past your bedtime. 

Written in the voice of the two lead characters, Quinn and Alex, the story of Esther is told.  Both see her in totally different ways.  Quinn knows her as the Saint Esther, the perfect roommate and best friend who disappeared one night while Quinn was out.  Alex knows her as the mysterious girl who shows up in his town whom he nicknames Pearl.  Alex is drawn to Pearl and wants to know what she is doing in his town and staying in the supposedly haunted abandoned house across from his.   In the end, both Quinn and Alex’s worlds are rocked by the truth they discover.  Nothing is as it seems.

I was so enthralled with this book I couldn’t put the book down and was up late into the night reading it.  Usually I can figure out the endings but this one was a huge surprise.  This is the first book by Mary Kubica that I have read and it definitely won’t be the last.
