His Kiss (Summer in New York Book 2) by Jolyse Barnett Review
Synopsis:
After a motorcycle accident and subsequent alcohol abuse, Jeremy Engel has managed to claw his way back from the dark depths of personal hell. He’s now a successful comic book author and working on his second book, and when the woman he met while on a rare getaway—the one he hasn’t been able to forget—opens a shop in his neck of the woods, he thinks he’s even learned to trust and hope again.
Elizabeth Desmond may have been born with a silver spoon in her mouth, but she’s determined to make a success of her shop in the Adirondack tourist town of Lake Placid. And just when she thinks it can’t get any better, the mysterious stranger she kissed on a moonlit resort beach walks back into her life.
But when Jeremy’s old demons return, it’s up to Elizabeth to show him they’re not so different after all…
My Review:
It’s hard to write a romance story about two damaged people
and have it remain romantic. But in this
story the author does it in a way that works out really well.
They were from very different backgrounds and they had more
in common than they didn’t.
Elizabeth Desmond and Jeremy Engel both battle
addictions. Jeremy is a recovering
alcoholic and Elizabeth battles an eating disorder. Both are total opposites. She is rich and he grew up struggling for
everything he had.
When Elizabeth met Jeremy at the hotel where her
grandparents celebrated their anniversary, she knew he was something
special. But she was afraid of getting
involved with someone after her last relationship. She wanted more than just someone to merge
bank accounts with. Elizabeth dreamed of
a relationship like her parents had; romantic, exciting and fun.
Jeremy had no idea the woman he found on the beach staring
up at the stars would change his life.
Prior to meeting her, he was pretty much a recluse. He didn’t socialize very often and never had
anyone come to his house. Would she be
the one to finally help him get over the girl who broke his heart?
He was her missing piece.
All she had to do was convince him he deserved her, not just for the
summer or a year, but for a lifetime of love.

Condos & Condoms by Eva M. Alexander Review
Synopsis:
In her collection of short stories that are
both poignant and amusing, Eva Alexander cleverly places diverse
characters in front of everyday challenges that test their emotions,
fortitude, and character. Tommy believes he is doing his best his own
way. But what no one knows is that he is battling many personal demons.
Vicky, a beautiful and talented singer, is about to realize the
consequences of placing her trust in the wrong person.
Condos & Condoms is a collection of short stories that celebrates life, friendship, heartache, and joy through a cast of characters who just want to find their way in a challenging world.
My Review:
Condos & Condoms is a collection of short stories that celebrates life, friendship, heartache, and joy through a cast of characters who just want to find their way in a challenging world.
My Review:
An intriguing collection of short stories celebrating Life,
friendship and relationships
Each story in unique and feels like a glimpse into someone’s
private life. It’s a quick read if you
don’t have a lot of time. The author
really shows her talent with each story.
From the affair in The African, to the dreams of a young
star in The Manager, and the even more risqué Eine Kleine Pornography, these
stories will take you away from your everyday life.
