Taming the Beast (The Fairy Tales of New York Book 3) by Lucy King Review
Synopsis:
Once upon a time, Mercedes ‘Mercy’ Hernandez had the most enormous crush on her best friend’s older brother, Seb Madison. Now, though, she can’t stand the beast. Forget that he’s as spine-tinglingly gorgeous as ever. He’s a lousy brother and a manipulative bastard, not that she ever thinks about that disastrous one night stand they once had…
Still riddled with guilt over the death of his parents, billionaire loner Seb Madison has spent so long emotionally shut off that when beautiful, fiery Mercy bursts into his life again, he doesn’t know what’s hit him. All he knows is that she confuses him and he doesn’t like it.
Yet their chemistry hasn’t faded and, when hostility turns to attraction, a no-strings affair seems the logical solution. Mercy’s taking a much needed break from her family’s Argentinian vineyard to study for an MBA and Seb doesn’t do relationships. Neither have either the time or inclination for anything other than weekends-only red-hot sex. Or do they…?
My Review:
Mercedes “Mercy” Hernandez has had a secret crush on her
best friend’s brother for a long time.
Five years ago she visited Sebastian “Seb” Madison to talk to him about
his sister Zel. Things got a little
crazy and they ended up having sex. It
was only a one night stand and they have kept it a secret since then. But Mercy hasn’t forgotten that night.
Seb still blames himself for the tragic accident which
killed his parents. He has distanced
himself from Zel and everyone else since then.
Will Mercy showing up again be the one to change his life?
When Mercy and Seb decide to have another fling, they find
themselves being pulled even closer every time they see each other. Can they keep it just casual sex or will they
give in to the love that has been there all along.
This is a beautifully written love story that you shouldn’t
pass up.

One Night with the Tycoon (Whiskey River Book 3) by Katherine Garbera Review
Synopsis:
Meet the Kellys of Whiskey River, Texas, men who have always gone through life, and women, with their father’s legendary charm.
Wyatt Kelly, CEO of Kelly Boots, is rumored to do everything with his cowboy boots on, including seducing women into memorable one-night stands. Growing up the second eldest son of a philandering charmer, Wyatt’s seen first hand how messy relationships can get when the heart’s involved, and he’s determined to leave no scars. No woman’s tempted Wyatt to break his vow until he meets Juliette Rossi.
Juliette is all about business. She’s focused on turning the lavender farm she and her cousin inherited into a successful, world-wide company. Her meticulous plans are on the right track until she accepts a dare to spend the night with Wyatt after the annual Boots & Bangles Gala. Juliette’s fantasized about Wyatt for years... One night will get him out of her system for good, right?
Wrong.
Can she convince Wyatt that he’s more than his Kelly heritage? Will Wyatt agree that one night just isn't enough?
My Review:
Will "love them and leave them" Wyatt Kelly ever
settle for one woman? Juliette Rossi
wants to find out. It all started with some flirting at The Boots and Bangles
Gala when Wyatt asked her to dance. The next thing she knew they were kissing.
Now Juliette wants more. Much more.
Juliette has returned to Whiskey River with plans of making
the lavender farm that she and her cousin inherited into a successful,
world-wide company. With the perfume
knowledge and experience she has from working in Paris, she knows she can do
it.
Rumor had it that Wyatt Kelly could romance any woman into
bed and then have nothing else to do with them.
The next day he would be gone. He didn't want to leave a trail of broken
hearts behind like his father did. Will he be able to stick with his night only
rules when it comes to Juliette?
Great writing and characters make this a memorable story.

Tempting the Knight (The Fairy Tales of New York Book 2) by Heidi Rice
Synopsis:
Once upon a time, poor little rich girl Zelda Madison wanted someone to love her, until she discovered being a badass was much more fun.
Ten years after getting kicked out of convent school and torn away from her three best friends, Zelda has worked hard to clean up her act, but her wild streak has never been completely tamed and — one midnight swim on Manhattan Beach later — she’s suddenly in urgent need of a knight in shining armor…
Hard-working legal aid attorney Tyrone Sullivan is the last guy she should call. Not only does he hold a grudge when it comes to Zelda leading his little sister astray all those years ago, he’s also supremely pissed about having to rescue a runaway supermodel from a Brooklyn police station at two am. But when Ty reluctantly agrees to bust Zel out of her ivory tower and let her hide out on his house barge for a few days, she shows him the wild side he didn’t know he had.
Zel discovers there’s nothing hotter than tarnishing a good guy’s armor… Until he starts to steal her bad girl’s battered heart…
My Review:
They were meant to be together and didn’t even realize
it.
Tyrone Sullivan always held Zelda Madison responsible for
his sister Dawn getting in trouble in school.
Ten years later.
When Zelda needs help in the middle of the night, Tyrone is
the one she calls. Ty is now a lawyer
and she knows he might be able to help her if he can just get past how he feels
about her. When Zel calls, Ty couldn’t
turn her down. What is he to do with the
diva model when she stays with him for a few days? Will they be able to work through their
differences?
Sparks fly between Zel and Ty in this story.

Pursued by the Rogue (The Fairy Tales of New York Book 1) by Kelly Hunter Review
Synopsis:
A no-strings affair between two dedicated professionals? It should have been the perfect solution.
Ugly duckling Dawn Turner doesn’t do relationships. She has her reasons and they’re good ones. But she can’t resist the magic in Finbar Sullivan’s touch, so she negotiates the next best thing with him. Scorchingly perfect, utterly casual sex.
World class musician Finnbar Sullivan always pushes the limits to get what he wants, and he wants Dawn. All of her. Love, commitment and a future together. So he reneges on the deal and composes a new one.
So what’s stopping her? And will Finn’s latest offer be enough to change Dawn’s mind?
My Review:
With the possibility of having a life altering disease, Dawn
Turner avoids relationships. She refuses
to get married and have her husband watch her suffer from the disease. She also doesn't want kids because the
disease is genetic. There is a
fifty-fifty chance that she may get it.
After ten years apart, Dawn gets together with her old class
mates. She keeps the possibility of
having Huntington’s disease a secret from them.
She also has another secret that she has kept from everyone since she
was seventeen.
Finbar Sullivan has always been attracted to Dawn. Now that she is back in his sisters life, he
doesn't want to her go.
Finn agrees with Dawn’s plan of seeing each other for sex
only. But his feelings run much deeper
than that. Dawn also has strong feelings
for Finn, but she refuses to let him know.
Will Finn be able to convince Dawn that their relationship
is strong and can survive anything?
This is a wonderful story about learning to let go of your
fears and just go with the flow. You never know where it might lead you.
The Falconer's Daughter: Book II by Liz Lyles Review
Synopsis:
Know your daughters.
When young Lady Anne Macleod runs off with her true love, the handsome young falconer, Kirk Buchanan, she inadvertently sets off a chain of events that turns her young daughter, Cordaella, into a pawn between wealthy lords locked in a game of power, wealth, and greed.
At age nine, Cordaella is forcibly taken from her Highland home, and given to her uncle. Once there, Codaella learns the truth. She is the heiress to the Macleod fortune, to the dismay of many of her family members.
Thrust into an uncomfortable new life in England with her uncle, the Earl of Derby, she is unaware that she’s being groomed for a marriage to a Castilian duke who cares nothing for her and everything for her dowry…
Will Cordaella continue to act as a pawn in her family’s games or will she seize her own destiny?
My Review:
This addition to The Falconer's Daughter begins with the
preparation of King Henry V's arrival at Peveril for the council's
meeting. Everyone must pitch in to make
it a successful event.
Sixteen year old Cordaella is admired by a string of suitors
even though she is betrothed. Her cousin Phillip still wishes they could be
together. He doesn't want her to marry
Duke Fernando. He believes she will be
unhappy in the marriage. Bran O'Brien is
back and they confess their love for each other late one night. Cordaella fights her feelings for Bran
because she knows they can never be together. John Cardiff also tries for Cordaella's love.
During a jousting tournament one of Cordaella's admirers is
killed and another sent away and told he is not allowed to return.
When fall arrives, it is time for Cordaella to go to Spain
to be with Duke Fernando. He is far from
what she expected. But she remains brave
in front of him despite the rumors of him killing his former wives.
She goes through the wedding and becomes an obedient wife as
she has been taught even though the memories of Bran still haunt her. She becomes friends with one of her maids but
is afraid to share too much with her. She
doesn’t know who she can truly trust.
This is another book that I am curious to see what happens next.
Liz Lyles is an incredible story teller.
