Review: Ghost Ship’s Dark Spell (Witch and Demon Hunter Book 4) by Leigh Ann Edwards
The corporate culture at the agency for Locating and Assessing Magical Beings has deteriorated into suspicion and mistrust. When the life of top agent Fiona Maguire is threatened, her partner and secret lover, half-demon Lorcan Wright, convinces her to seek refuge in a time and place hidden from their enemies.
A beach vacation visiting family in the late eighteenth century is just the ticket—until one night Fiona sees a ghost ship sailing under a dark spell. When its vengeful captain beckons her, she insists on conducting an unsanctioned investigation, despite Lorcan’s fears. With the help of Lorcan’s former pirate brother Faolan and his wife Angelique, a transcendent water witch, they learn the ghost ship’s captain is targeting Fiona—because of Lorcan.
Secrets from the past arise to complicate the mission, while in the present, the in-fighting at LAMB turns deadly. Enemies are everywhere, allies are scarce, and it seems their love is to blame. Will the fierce, ghostly captain drag them all to the dark depths to join his spectral crew? Or will Fiona and Lorcan’s hard earned love weather the supernatural storm?
My Review:
An amazing fantasy.
Fiona and Lorcan’s story continues with an epic
adventure. This time it’s a ghost ship
creating havoc on the MB community; meanwhile, LAMB is undergoing lots of
changes that could affect Fiona, Lorcan and the entire team. But Lorcan has an idea that could change the
course of LAMB.
I really enjoyed this book. I liked seeing Fiona and Lorcan’s relationship grow and their time travel journey to the past to put an end to the evil ghost ship. This book, as with the entire series, is a fun escape. I am already counting down the days until the next Witch and Demon Hunter book come out.

Review: Made for Mistletoe (The Walkers of River's Edge Book 3) by Nan Reinhardt
This Christmas he has big plans until he meets a beautiful distraction….
Army reservist Cameron Walker loves everything about the holidays in River’s Edge—celebrating with his big family and carving out more time to work on his custom design furniture in his studio. But when he meets a visiting artist and niece of a family friend, he’s eager to break his work plans for play. He knows first-hand life’s short.
Teacher and artist Harper Gaines is bowled over by the handsome and friendly finish carpenter she meets during her vacation. His admiration for her art and his enthusiasm for life light her up, and remind her of how much she’s been missing since her soldier husband’s death. But when she discovers Cam’s also a soldier, she retreats, unable to risk another loss.
Cam has never felt such a strong connection, and he won’t give up without a fight. But will Cam’s persistence and the magic of Christmas be enough to convince Harper to take a chance on them?
My Review:
Their love was meant to be.
This book is a beautiful love story; full of sweet and tender moments and lots of emotion. I always enjoy a book that has real life situations; Harper and Cam’s story definitely fit that category. Cam is a soldier and Harper is mourning the loss of her soldier husband. Cam has trust issues after being dumped on his wedding day. Together, they help each other through their fears and worries and build a strong relationship. But it doesn’t come without a few bumps along the way. This is an amazing memorable story.

Review: A Corgi Conundrum (The Pecan, Texas Pet Groomer Cozy Mysteries Book 4) by M. Alfano
You would think I’d have my life together after helping to solve a few small-town murders and launching a thriving dog grooming business.
But, I, Leslie Winters, am the definition of a dog chasing its tail.
Since my lovely boyfriend, Detective Adam Waltz, hasn’t popped the question, I figure helping my best friend’s husband out and subbing in the ag department to teach the kids dog grooming was a good way to spend my free time and earn some extra money.
I didn’t expect to find the middle-school secretary dead in the ag barn, let alone her corgi leading me right to the body.
Adam tells me to stay out of this crime, but this was on my turf. If someone has a chance to get to the bottom of who would poison an innocent old lady in the barn, well, it’s going to be the best—and only—dog groomer and substitute agriculture teacher in Pecan, Texas.
Regardless of the danger barking my way.
My Review:
A fast-paced cozy mystery.
Leslie Winters is a dog groomer who is filling in as a
substitute teacher to help a friend. But
her first day quickly ends when she discovers the school secretary dead in the
ag barn. Against her detective
boyfriend’s wishes, Leslie sets out to find the killer. Leslie can’t seem to pass up solving a
mystery, but sometimes finds herself in unexpected situations in the process.
This is the book that I have read by this author and I really enjoyed it. I look forward to reading more. She has a way of telling the story and keeping it entertaining and even throwing in a few laughs.
