Review: After the Bite: An Argeneau Novel by Lynsay Sands

My Review:

Another exciting Argeneau book.

Immortal Enforcer, Valerian, has finally found his life mate, golf course owner and chef, Natalie.  But Natalie isn’t what Valerian expected.  First off, she has a young daughter.  How could he turn her into an immortal if she has a child?  Second, she is a widow and not interested in a relationship, after her last went terribly wrong.  She is also being stalked by a killer.  Valerian has his job cut out for him if he wants to spend eternity with Natalie.

This book is a great addition to the Argeneau series; full of twists and turns, excitement and romance. As with the other books in this series, I had a hard time putting it down.

My Review: 

Life is about to change for this ranching family.

When Texas ranching family, the Tomlinsons, win the lottery, Josh Tomlinson seeks advice from his brother’s best friend, Carly Garza, who has recently moved back to Last Stand after law school.  Carly, along with a couple of her trusted friends, come up with a financial plan for the family.  

Carly has always had a crush on Josh, but now the timing is wrong.  She doesn’t want him to think she is just after him for just his money.  But Carly soon finds out Josh has those same feeling for her.  Will they ever be able to start a new relationship in the midst of the media circus, single women throwing themselves at Josh and his brothers and countless people who want a handout? 

Through all the Christmas festivities and excitement of their big win, Josh comes up with the ultimate Christmas surprise for Carly.  This part made me tear up.

I really enjoyed this book and already anxious to read the next books that will follow.  I can’t wait to see how each of the brothers life will change and how they find their true love. 

 

 

Review: A Bayou Christmas (Louisiana #3) by Susan Sands

My Review:

An amazing book to read at Christmas or any time of the year.  

After beating cancer and meeting her biological family (in the first book of this series), Allison Miers is back in Cypress Bayou getting to know her family better.  She is starting her life over with a new job and a possible romantic interest, Nick, the mechanic/shop owner who came to her rescue the day Allison arrived in town.  Allison still isn’t sure if she will stay in Louisiana or go back to Chicago, so she has a lot to think about; should she start a relationship with Nick or open her own business, if she doesn’t plan on sticking around.  A lot of it is still up in the air.  But with a little holiday spirit and the help of Nick, her family and new friends, Allison just might have found herself a new home. 

This book is a perfect addition to the Louisiana series. I hate to think this might be the end of the series.  I love the Bertrand family and the town of Cypress Bayou.
