Review: Cop An Attitude: An Unlawfully Funny Romantic Comedy (I Can't Stop Loving You RomComs Book 1) by Hilary Grossman

Their reunion left a lot to be desired. Are they a disaster in the making or totally meant to be?

I kicked love to the curb for the greater good. After all, my soaring career would’ve made my family so proud, and men have a tendency to stop success cold. But I never expected a single and sexy police officer to pull me over, flirt with me, and then write me a ticket.

Now I see the infuriating cop everywhere I go. It doesn’t help that we have a past, and he’s an amazing dad to his daughter. And every time I want to get back to my small-town routine, I can only think about what my life would be like with the no-nonsense policeman…

I should really just forget the whole thing. But if I do, will I lose my last chance at love?

Cop An Attitude is the charming first book in the I Can’t Stop Loving You romantic comedy series. If you like engaging characters, enemies to lovers, and laughing out loud, then you’ll adore Hilary Grossman’s humorous walk on the wild side.

My Review:

A fun quick read.

Two former classmates meet again in this fun story filled with witty dialogue and humor.

When Waverly and Pete meet again, it isn’t on the best of terms.  In fact, it was late at night when Waverly was headed home after a long day at work.  Pete is a police officer and pulls Waverly over for speeding.  When he realizes who he has just pulled over, he couldn’t believe it.  Waverly gave Pete a nickname, when they in school, that caused lots of people to laugh at him.  But he still secretly had a crush on her.  Grown up Pete is a widower and has a little girl.  Now, he has to make the decision between making a pass at Waverly or keeping his distance, so Clara doesn’t get hurt again, if things don’t work out.  Waverly is a workaholic and doesn’t have free time for herself, much less dating.  Will Pete and Waverly be able pull off the relationship that so many people know is destined to happen?

This book was so much fun to read.  I couldn’t wait to see how Waverly and Pete would end up together.  There was a lot of build up to the big moment and even then, I had to wonder if they would stay together.  Waverly and Pete’s story does continue in another book, but this book does not end with a cliff hanger.  I can’t wait to read about their journey after marriage.

Review: Behind the Scenes (Matched #1) by Amy Kathryn Jones

Welcome to Matched, where happily ever afters are guaranteed…

Ambitious producer Ginger Moon lives and breathes the hit reality show Matched. All her work is about to pay off with an executive gig overseas—if she can produce one more happy ending. Only problem? This season’s star was her last season’s crush, and when the show wrapped, Ginger took her fantasy with the now-famous bad boy too far.

America adored him, but Elliot Hale left last season heartbroken. Trusting his panel of family and friends to keep him from blindly falling in love again, Elliot returns for the Matched guarantee: marriage with a compatible partner. His insufferably hot producer promises that and more, but she has rules: trust the process, take her calls, and never ever mention their night together.

When shooting starts, on-screen romances fall flat as the chemistry behind the scenes reaches a boiling point. To save the season, Ginger is forced to create a twist that will make her career but break her own heart by matching the man she loves with someone else.

My Review:

Finding the perfect match.

This romantic story is a behind the scenes look at a reality show where the producer and the star of the show fall in love.  The outcome could ruin one of them.

Ginger Moon never expected the fling she had with Elliot Hale, at the end of last season’s reality show, Matched, to go any further than the one night they spent together.  But now Elliot is back and he is the star of the show the new season.  All Ginger has to do is get him to fall in love with one of the girls and leave the show happy.  But Ginger is fighting the feelings she still has for Elliot and it’s making it hard to do her job.

The only reason Elliot agreed to be on Matched again was to see Ginger.  She never returned any of his emails that he had sent to her, after their night together, and he didn’t know of any other way to get in touch with her.  He hasn’t been able to get her out of his mind.  Elliot will do anything to prove his love to Ginger.

This book was so good, I had a hard time putting it down.  I can’t wait to read the next books in the series.

Review: The Cowboy’s Texas Rose (The Dixons of Legacy Ranch #1) by E. Elizabeth Watson

They’ve found exactly what they weren’t looking for…

Archaeologist Rosalinda Morales is focused more on what’s in the soil and caves of the famed Legacy Ranch, rather than what’s on it—the sexy and charismatic cowboy heir. As a single mom to her special needs son, she knows what it’s like to struggle, so even though Toby Dixon has charm pulsing through his veins, she’s determined to resist.

Despite trying to mend bridges, Toby Dixon’s brothers have no interest in coming home, so he’s taken the reins of his family’s historic cattle ranch. Having vowed to his dying mother to settle down, he's still considering how to move the company forward when Dr. Morales, armed with a sense of humor, a keen intellect and love for adventure, arrives with her team of students. Suddenly Toby begins to see more possibilities for his family’s ancient land and his future.

Toby can’t flirt his way into Rose’s life. He’ll need to up his game and earn the trust of the woman who isn’t just excavating his soil, but digging into his heart.

My Review:

The perfect start to a new series.

This book kicks off The Dixons of Legacy Ranch series and I am already anxious to read the following books.  In this book, we meet Toby Dixon, who runs Legacy Ranch while his brothers are off pursuing their chosen careers.  Rose comes into Toby’s life when she brings her archeology students to study Native American artifacts found on the ranch.  When Rose and Toby first meet, he didn’t make a good first impression.  He is hungover and when Rose gets in his Bronco, she notices a pink bra some girl left behind.  Rose is attracted to Toby, but she has been hurt by men in the past.  She definitely doesn’t need a playboy like Toby in her life.  She is focusing on her teaching career and raising her autistic son.   But what people don’t understand about Toby is how much he has grown up since taking over the ranch.  He has fresh ideas to bring the ranch it into the future and he has given up his womanizing ways.  After spending time with Rose and her son, Toby has added one more thing to his future plans.  He has decided he wants Rose and Sage in his life.  And he will do whatever it takes to make it happen.

This was the first book, by this author, that I have read and I really enjoyed her writing style.  Her characters felt real, with interesting backgrounds, and the descriptions of Legacy Ranch made it sound like a place I would like to visit.  The story flowed well and kept my attention the entire time.  If you are looking for a good, heartfelt romance, I recommend this book.
